• empower each person they support to become more independent and involved in their local community, who are flexible and open minded and who are willing to adapt and change according to the situations that arise

• never make assumptions and are able to work as a team

• are good problem solvers, with the ability to work through difficult situations - who are honest with others and themselves

• are aware of their own cultural values, attitudes and knowledge and how this affects their work

 

On a professional basis, people who understand the value and importance of:

 

• The principles of continuing professional development and of learning and methods of self-evaluation

• Different types of communication and positive working approaches

• The difference between work relationships and personal relationships and how work relationships can be maintained professionally

• The current legislative and regulatory framework that directs how services are delivered to customers

 

People who may have/or are willing to work towards achieving the following levels of professional development & training:

 

• Principles of care, values and beliefs course

• Any courses related to the needs of the people they support or have supported

• Any courses related to service delivery

 

Empowered Lives urgently requires Home Care/Support Workers to work in the Bradford and Surrounding Areas. You will be providing Care and Support to Service users in their own homes and ideally need to be a driver.
